Born in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 6, 2004, my early years were marked by significant transition. From 2009 to 2016, I attended Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School, a period where my world was defined by the stability and love provided by my maternal great-aunt, Susie Annette Hartman, who formally adopted me.
The trajectory of my childhood changed irrevocably on the night of October 9, 2014. That evening serves as the defining rupture in my personal history; it was the night that led to the passing of my adoptive father, Nick Fairbanks Hartman, on October 10, 2014. That loss became the fundamental catalyst for the themes of trauma, resilience, and memory that anchor my commitment to the "No Stories Left Behind" philosophy today.
My middle and high school years were spent in Kentucky, attending Hopkinsville Middle School (2016–2018) and Hopkinsville High School (2018–2022). During this time, my identity was shaped deeply by my involvement in school bands. From 6th through 12th grade, music was my primary language; I spent these years mastering instrumentation and understanding how collective sound functions as a singular emotional force.
The band room became a sanctuary where I learned to articulate the complexities of growing up amidst the shadow of my earlier loss. Balancing the rigors of performance with the internal work of navigating my personal history, I began to see music not just as a hobby, but as a mechanism for survival. This period served as the technical and emotional blueprint for the themes I now explore in my music.
My time in the US Army provided a rigorous structure that governs my creative process. The discipline required in service is the same discipline I apply to my production, songwriting, and technical integration.
Married to Katelynn Kay Hartman since March 2, 2026, I am currently based in Oklahoma City. My artistic identity, DoubleU, is my contribution to the pain music and soul-trap movements. Using a noir-inspired aesthetic—defined by neon orange and cyan—I frame my experiences in a visual and sonic language that is unmistakably mine. My recent releases, including Faded 405 (February 2026), Dear Author (April 2026), and Nights On The Fault (June 2026), are deliberate, documented chapters of my journey, ensuring that the stories I’ve lived are never left unheard.
